What is now a very quiet, small, quaint community on the West Bank of the Sacramento river, Princeton, California Nestled in Colusa County once was quite a major shipping hub of farming business sitting in the midst of a major agricultural area, the Sacramento valley.

The main crop during this period early 1900s was wheat. All the wheat and other products from the farming community were brought to Princeton to be shipped to Sacramento and San Francisco via the Sacramento River. There was also a large processing plant on the river bank in Princeton. It was a Mill that milled wheat into flour. These products were loaded onto steam ships and shipped down the river to other communities mainly Sacramento and San Francisco to be distributed from there. There was also a fairy in Princeton. They provided crossing the river heading east, which would take you to the town of Marysville, which was another thriving farming community. This fairy provided a shipping route via land. The fairy is no longer running. The town of Princeton is no longer a major shipping hub but a quiet river community.
The town of Princeton has a population of 383 people sit at an elevation of 84 feet on the West Bank of the Sacramento river.
One bustling new business in the town of Princeton is farmers brewing company. Quite a successful business as the main brewer of craft beers for Princeton brewing. At the brewery, they have many beers on tap available for tasting and purchasing. It's really a great facility and a nice place to go. I suggest if you're in the area you stop in.
A few other things to draw interest to the Princeton area today's are, some fantastic fishing in the Sacramento River itself. Striped bass.

There is a spring run and a fall run. Some of these fish can go up to 45lbs. Other good Fishing can include salmon fishing in the fall. Shad fishing in the spring. And catfish, bass, and a few other species.
This is a huge area of interest for duck and geese hunters. Delevan refuge is nearby, and also there are many rice fields that provide great habitat for the southern migration of the winter, ducks and geese.
